This week’s moodboard is inspired by my favourite drink-a rich, creamy, chocolatey mocha.
I personally think brown doesn’t get enough love when it comes to wedding colour schemes…but brown makes the perfect backdrop to an autumn or winter wedding. Brown comes in so many rich and warm shades that you’re sure to find a brown you love.
So read on for some tips on how you can have a mocha hued wedding.
Colour scheme
As this theme is inspired by a mocha, a deep, rich brown is your starting point here, complimented by a paler, creamy brown-think of the colour of the foam you get on a freshly made mocha!
A creamy white is your key neutral and add a pale, blush pink or peach for a pretty contrast.
Wedding clothes
Pull the warmth of this colour scheme through into the wedding clothes. Choose a lace dress with a lining in your pale brown or pink colour.
Grooms can opt for a dark brown waistcoat or go all the way with a brown, tweed suit.
Wedding flowers
You are somewhat limited in flowers when it comes to brown, though there are a few, paler, brown options. Dried flowers are your friend here, supplemented with flowers in your complimentary colour.
Wedding decor
Keep the colour scheme really focused on your browns, creams and pale pink. Dried flowers will make wonderful table decorations and wood is an obvious choice for decorations. A wooden ‘welcome’ sign to greet your guests will help to set the scene.
Wedding cake
If you’re a fan, then the obvious way to go would be a coffee flavoured cake! Keep it quite rustic, with the layers in the cake visible. A great alternative would be a wedding cake made up of layered cheesecakes.
