If you are planning an outdoor wedding, you are in the right place.
I’m Tracyann, founder of Muddy Weddings, and outdoor weddings are what I do.
If you have found your way here, chances are you are planning something a little different. Not a venue with a coordinator on site and a list of approved suppliers but something far more personal than that. A field, a hillside, a stretch of coastline. Somewhere that actually means something to you.
That is exactly the kind of wedding I set up Muddy Weddings to plan. I could see that couples who wanted to get married outdoors, whether on private land, in wild landscapes, or somewhere genuinely remote, did not have many options when it came to finding a wedding planner who really understood what that involves. So I built a business around it.
I live in a small village in rural Northamptonshire, which tells you something about how I spend my time. I am an avid walker (the Peak District is my favourite place to clear my head ) and I have always been more comfortable in a field than in a meeting room. The outdoors is not an aesthetic choice for me. It is just where I feel most at home.
I am a professionally trained wedding planner, and I have been doing this since outdoor weddings were still considered the complicated option rather than the desirable one. What I love about the work, genuinely, not in a way I feel obliged to say, is that I still get excited about weddings. Even attending one as a guest. There is something about a day built entirely around two people that I find endlessly interesting to be part of.
“The best outdoor weddings work with the landscape rather than against it. Use what is there. Let the place be part of the day. That is when it stops feeling like a wedding that happens to be outside, and starts feeling like something else entirely.”
When you work with Muddy Weddings, you are working with me directly. I plan a small number of weddings each year so that I can give each one the attention it deserves. I am calm under pressure, honest with my advice, and genuinely invested in getting it right; not just on the day, but throughout the whole process.
If you are planning a wedding on private land, in a wild landscape, or somewhere that needs a planner who has done this before and genuinely loves it then I would love to hear from you.
